Out With the Old and In With The Used

January 27, 2014

So what happened this weekend. I can say I feel really poor but don't we all after we have a really big purchase, think like A CAR purchase. Yes, Boyfriend and I are now proud owners of a 370Z. I actually really like the car, but I will never drive it (I can't drive stick, and according to Boyfriend and you can't have an automatic sports car.. who knew?)

Well, let me start at the beginning, beginning of the weekend that is. On Friday, Boyfriend and I went and got a grill, a really hie grill. I know this doesn't sound exciting, but it is. We have been looking at grills for 3 months and finally decided on one (thank god!) So we got home and Boyfriend made us steak and I cooked the side dishes. It was delicious, and you would be able to tell if I took a picture of it (which I didn't). After our delicious meal, we hung out and went to sleep early (I wake up at 5am every morning).

On Saturday, we have hair appointments. Yes, Boyfriend even had one (we go to a place that has a barber shop and salon). It always nice to have your hair did. Well on our way there, Boyfriend proceeded to tell me about how his friend has been looking for cars for him (he works at a dealership) and found him his dream car. I being the ever so supportive girlfriend that I am, said lets go look at it later. So after we looked fab (yes, I did just said that) we were looking for something to do, so I said lets go look at the car. Boy, did I regret those words quickly. So we went to the dealership, hung out with his friend and looked at the car. Boyfriend is like I doubt I will get approved so this should be a quick trip. Yeah, not so much, he did get approved and for an amount that is a a reasonable payment. So I was like we are going home to think about this, because we were not making a decision like this on the fly. We went home and talked it out, and talked and talked and talked (and yelled a little bit, and wait did I mention we talked?) The decision was not made that night and we went to bed angry (which we vow to never do, but I was mad). We woke up the next morning (or in my case, the sun came up and I was still awake) and talked it out some more (and of course yelled some more) and decided to go back to the dealership and see if we can work something out. I was going to pay the bad guy and tell them no if they couldn't work with us.

At the dealership, everyone kept congratulating us on our new car. I was like we have not signed anything and the terms are not where I like them. Well, the sales guy could not get us the deal we wanted and we were ready to walk. Until Bill came. Bill is one of the finance mangers who works at said dealership. He helped me buy my car a couple months ago. (Long story short about that, Boyfriend said I needed a safer car, and he wanted out of his current lease, so he traded in his car for me to get a new car. He was going to drive my old car, until we could afford another car and then trade in my old car.) We bonded with Bill when we purchased my car (us Jews tend to stick together) and told us he would do the best he could and try and help. And help he did. He made it happen for us. So the decision was made and Boyfriend was getting a new car. We are now a Nissan family.

We sold the old car, the Fucas as I commonly refer to it and got a new used car. I was happy and sad to see the car go. It was my first car and we have been through some crazy times together. I had my moment with it and watched it drive off and now it going to be someone’s nice new used car. Out with the old and in with the new (used).

Let’s Just Call This Time 6,735,915,000

January 24, 2014

Hi everyone! I have tried this blogging thing before, over a million different times to be exact and it always goes so well for the first couple weeks (let’s be honest maybe the first week) and then I just stop. I don’t think I have ever had enough followers that would miss me, so it just falls to waist side and I continue on with my life.

Well, last night I was thinking I get these random ideas of things to write about all the time. Mostly right before I go to bed or take a shower or sitting at work bored out of my mind (I think we might have just gotten a little two personal). So I figured I would write it all down and hopefully entertain a few people, if not, then I will just entertain myself.

Well, I guess I should introduce myself… I’m Leah. I’m in my mid-twenties and live the Sunshine State (which isn’t always sunny, so whoever came up with the nickname must of missed out on the rainy days). As for how I fill my days (well just Monday thru Friday) I work a strange desk job that when I tell people about it go, “well I guess someone needs to do that.” I have met the love of my life (he will commonly be referred to as “Boyfriend” or “Babe”) about 9 months ago. Before you say, “how do you know he is the love of your life you have only been together 9 months… bullshit” I respond with when you know you know, but more on him and that at another time (he will occasionally write in here too.) I am not your girlyest of girls… I love makeup (and have a ton) but never wear it, I occasionally do my hair but typically its in a bun atop my head (and if that ever goes out of style, I’m screwed). I am a huge Disney addict and typically take my drug as trips to the parks (let’s just say I’m there about 3 times a month).

Well that is me, and my simple ramblings about my life and food (did I mention, I love food) and my relationship (that I did mention).
